We’re *moving*
*sigh*
I really do have every intention of trying to breathe new life into my blog. Life has been so crazy since Kaedmon was born.
We also have a computer that has 7 (yes, 7!) mb of space left on it. I can’t upload/download anything. We are currently saving up for a new computer now and I will be able to share photos then.
everyone has an opinion
What is it with everyone having an opinion about when you take your baby out for the first time? Want an example? Cue mean Walmart lady. I had to take Kaed back to Mayfield for a bilirubin repeat and I also needed diapers. I decided to stop off at Walmart on the way home as to save someone else from having to do it.
As a side note, I know it is not ideal and it is even frowned upon for a post partum woman to drive or, even worse, drive alone, but our scenario is not ideal. David has to work… a lot…and David’s mom stayed back at home with the kids- God bless her.
Back to the story. Little did I know what I was in for at the checkout:
Mean Walmart Lady (MWL): “How old is your baby?”
Me: “2 days.”
MWL: “How long were you in the hospital?”
Me: “A little less than 24 hours.”
Mean Walmart lady then muttered something about it needing to be standard for all women and babies to be in a hospital for a minimum of 48 hours to be monitored.
Me: “My baby and I were both well monitored and we weren’t released until it was safe.”
I want to say that at that point I didn’t mutter my own comment about how childbirth is over complicated these days, but I did. I was highly hormonal and very tired. Safe to say, I know it wasn’t ideal that I was out by myself at that point, but she was concerned about the baby, not me.
In conclusion, unless something changes, I am going to church tomorrow. I am sure I’ll hear about that as well.
FeedBurner?
I opened up a feedburner account, but I am not sure how to get it onto my site. Does anyone know?
so i’m wondering…
why some blogs are snowing? But not mine? So sad…
Wanted: Sling
Before I go searching online, I was wondering if anyone had a baby carrier/sling that they were done using and were interested in getting rid of?
I have never been much of a fan of slings, but I may have had a change of heart. Lately I have been reading a lot about its benefits in establishing a good nursing relationship and strengthening the mom/baby bond.
So…I am thinking of giving it a try. Anyone, anyone? If not, does anyone know a good place to get one that is reasonably priced? I repeat, reasonably priced?
Sammy

And, today:

My boy is so big- 4 years old! I honestly cannot believe it. I really do feel like he was just born. Sammy came into the world unlike his other two brothers- early! This should have been clear indication that all other moments from that point on would take place in the same way- on his schedule!
Sammy has always been a challenge for us. He is spunky, loud, and a little wild. He tends to be our screamer and he resists our authority more so than his brothers ever have. I am convinced he is hard-of-hearing (even though his audiologist has repeatedly told us that isn’t the case) and he can’t sit still more than a few seconds.
But he is so precious to me. Sammy has a charm about him and a smile that his Mama has never been good at resisting (maybe that’s the problem?) When he decides to chill out, he can most often be found singing by himself in the most beautiful little voice you have ever heard or sitting on Mommy’s lap sucking his thumb (we’re working on it).
I just love this little boy beyond words. I know many parents cannot see what I see because all they see is his wrecking ball mentality, but this precious little man really has a heart of gold.
Sammy also holds a special place in our hearts as he often reminds us of God’s sovereign work in our lives- as we would have never chosen to conceive a second child only 3 months following the birth of Noah. I am often brought to tears by God’s goodness and what a blessing Sammy has been to our family. It truly would not be the same without him!
I interviewed him today, for his baby book. It was hard to keep him still and he didn’t want to answer many of my questions, but here is what I got:
- What is your favorite color? Red.
- Favorite movie? Thomas and VeggieTales.
- Who is your favorite superhero? Bouncing Boy. (Actually, he calls him Jumping Boy and he probably isn’t his favorite. Bouncing Boy is actually the Happy Meal toy he got last night at McDonalds and he is obsessed at the moment.
- Favorite Book? Little Quack’s Bedtime.
- Favorite Cake? We never got an answer. He was far too overwhelmed as there were far too many choices!
- Favorite toy? LarryBoy.
- Favorite part of being 4 so far? Eating cake.
- Favorite thing to do outside? Play on the tire swings in New Mexico. Poor guy. That won’t be happening again any time soon.
- Favorite Song? Larryboy Theme Song.
- Favorite Sport? Baseball. What? I don’t think he’s ever even playing baseball.
- Favorite food? Cucumbers and Candy.
Some pics from our day:

Happy Birthday Sammy! We love you so so so much! You are just one of the many undeserved blessings God has given to us and I am so thankful.
oral hygiene
After those pop tarts, you need a good teeth brushin. Really, I am kidding. These two entries just happened to fall together. I am actually quite certain I didn’t brush their teeth after the pop tarts. I hope there are no dentists reading. David was brushing their teeth the other night and thought this was cute:
pointless…
I know. But fun. Since I am eating a late lunch at the computer, I thought I’d do something fun.

“the” yard sale
David and I have been prepping for one massive yard sale for months now. We have never done one before and have no idea what we’re doing!
I am looking for any advice/pointers that anyone would have for us! Things to do, not to do…any pricing info, bargaining info…
I’ll take ANYTHING!!! Also, would this be a good time to introduce Noah to saving, giving, spending, etc. by doing a lemonade stand? Or is he still too young for that? He’ll be 5 (ahh…that can’t be!) in December.
