Second Thoughts

about daughters LOL. Especially since I had 20 of them this weekend, per se. I am totally kidding, but…

This weekend was the Lives Ablaze Student Conference at Glorieta Conference Center, near Santa Fe. It was such a great conference and I believe most of the kids (emphasis on most) enjoyed it!

The worship leaders were amazing. That is how I know I am getting older. The kids loved the hard HARD rock concert (Skillet) and I was like “I don’t really prefer to feel my insides shaking very much!” LOL! I did at least pretend to still be 16 and rocked out with them anyway=)

P.S. My sister is pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Associational Lunch Follow Up=)

The church had an excellent lunch today full of brisket, our church hostess’ famous ranch bread, as well as homemade ice cream and pies! Mmmm! You would think I was pregnant again=)

But I must say that the highlight of the afternoon was making a new friend! Her name is Rebekah and her husband (I hope I get the title right!) is State Director of Evangelism. She was such a sweet gal and the fact that she is 3 hours away and not 3 days away is really nice. She could really relate to many of my moving and ministry struggles and that was a blessing. She and her husband have a beautiful (almost 2 year old) daughter. She was a real sweetie.

I guess my point is: I went to lunch thinking I was just getting lunch. It was a real blessing to make a friend as well!

Associational Lunch

Today David and I are having lunch with the state director of evangelism. I am excited. I hardly ever get to go to these kinds of things because of lack of child care. Our state director is fairly young as well (32)  so maybe we will make new friends in the process=)

Church Growth…who knew?

My senior pastor and I were discussing the idea of a community-wide Mom’s Day Out program. We were discussing some ideas and some possible scenarios when he told me of a church in a neighboring town whose women’s ministry coordinated a one-day potty training events for moms of 2 year olds. The pastor thought it was a funny idea and was sure noone would come but said “sure…sounds like a good idea…” The morning of the event he went to pick up a dozen dougnuts (yes, a dozen) and when he arrived at the church he found hundreds of families there eagerly waiting to potty train LOL! He said that a great amount of church growth came from that one day of teaching your child to potty train. How funny!

A Must Share!

…especially if you are a woman and know the pain of losing baby weight. I joined the gym on 3/30/07 and since then (2.5 months) I have lost 13 pounds and 10 inches! WOO HOO! Can you tell I am rather elated. I am back in my “skinny jeans” and my bridesmaid dress that I bought in April already has to be altered again=)

Can you tell I am having a good day?

P.S. If you can tell that my posts are rather shallow and not well written or thought out this week, it is because it is VBS and I am up to my eyeballs in crafts and Pre-K LOL=)

P.P.S. Noah is in Pre-K!!!!!!!!!!!! He is so precious! He made a lanyard today and a banner.

A New Mexico type of dinner

The church staff had dinner together tonight at the associate pastor’s house. It was not until AFTER dinner that they informed me that I had eaten ELK! That’s right…Elk. I nearly died, but then enjoyed more of it=) Mmmm…we also had corn on the cob, chips with green chile, and ice cream sundaes with fresh fruit. It was definitely a New Mexico type of dinner.
